Singapore International Commercial Court Practice Directions

The Singapore International Commercial Court Practice Directions (“SICC Practice Directions”) were first issued on 1 January 2015. The SICC Practice Directions comprise 23 Parts and are a self-contained set of procedural guidelines regulating all proceedings in the Singapore International Commercial Court (“SICC”). All users of the SICC are expected to comply with the SICC Practice Directions.

The SICC Practice Directions may be amended from time to time to cater to the needs of the SICC and its users. Amendments to the SICC Practice Directions are issued by way of amendment notifications.

The current version of the SICC Practice Directions, as well as the amendment notifications, may be found at the links below.

SICC User Guides

Separately, a set of SICC User Guides has been issued to provide users with some guidance on certain unique features of SICC proceedings. The SICC User Guides comprise the following:

  • Note 1: Jurisdiction
  • Note 2: Commencing an Action
  • Note 3: Foreign Representation
  • Note 4: Pre-Action Certificate
  • Note 5: Disapplication of Singapore Evidence Law
  • Note 6: Injunctions Prohibiting Disposal of Assets

The SICC User Guides are for reference purposes only and are intended to complement the Rules of Court and the SICC Practice Directions. For the avoidance of doubt, they do not form part of the Rules of Court or the SICC Practice Directions, and do not in any way modify anything in the Rules of Court or the SICC Practice Directions.

The SICC User Guides may be found at the link below.
