Ease of Doing Business in Maldives: Dispute Resolution Mechanisms, Singapore

Organised and conducted by the Singapore Judicial College, funded by the MFA-SCP.

This is a 4-day workshop to introduce judges and court officials of Maldives to the Singapore’s legal framework for the adjudication and resolution of disputes, in particular commercial disputes. The academic sessions are in the mornings consisting of substantive and procedural laws relating to commercial disputes and how IT can enhance the performance of commercial courts. The afternoons are learning journeys to the respective courts hearing commercial matters including visits to, and briefings, on alternative dispute resolution channels in lieu of commercial litigation. The workshop will end on a high note wherein the participants will have an opportunity to apply all that they have learnt through a case study.
