Admission of Advocates and Solicitors

All applicants who intend to seek admission as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore are to note the respective hearing dates for the said admission as set out below.

 

All applicants are to note the timelines for the filing of the requisite documents stated in the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2011 and are to ensure the documents are filed in compliance with the said timelines.

Admission of Advocates and Solicitors - Mass Call
Mass Call 2020 will be held over 4 consecutive sessions on Tuesday, 25 August 2020 and Wednesday, 26 August 2020 and will be presided remotely and conducted by means of a live video that is created using Zoom in the following sequence:

The Hearing List indicating the assigned session for each applicant will be published on the Supreme Court Website by mid-August 2020. You may refer to the website nearer the date.


All applicants who intend to seek admission during this year's Mass Call should take note of the following timelines for the filing of the requisite documents in accordance with the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2011 ("LPAR"):

Abridegment Applications for Mass Call 2020
Applicants who are not able to comply with the timelines prescribed by the LPAR as stipulated above may apply to the Court for abridgement of time. Hearing of abridgement applications for Mass Call 2020 has been scheduled on Monday, 17 August 2020, at 10AM.

Notwithstanding the application for abridgement of time, unless the Court otherwise directs, filing and service of the requisite documents must be completed by the time stipulated below, in accordance with paragraph 134 of the Supreme Court Practice Directions:

Mass Call 2020 - Briefing 
The Mass Call Briefing will be on Thursday, 20 August 2020 at 10.00AM and 2.30PM, by means of a live video that is created using Zoom.

Attendance at the briefing session is compulsory for all applicants seeking admission at Mass Call 2020. Applicants who do not attend the Briefing will have their call applications fixed for hearing at the next call hearing scheduled after Mass Call. The briefing will take approximately an hour.
