Court Calendar 2015

It is hereby notified for general information that The Honourable the Chief Justice has directed that Legal Year 2015 will commence on Tuesday, 6 January 2015 and end on Friday, 4 December 2015. The mid-year court vacation will be from Monday, 1 June 2015 to Friday, 26 June 2015 and the end of the year court vacation will be from Monday, 7 December 2015 to Thursday, 7 January 2016.

Supreme Court Transcription Services

The Supreme Court has approved the following vendors to provide private realtime court reporting services: DTI Corporation Pte Ltd formerly known as Merrill Corporation), Opus 2 International Singapore Pte Ltd and Planet Depos Asia LLC.

Parties may approach any of these vendors if they require private transcription services with (a) Realtime, (b) Daily or (c) Next Working Day delivery timeline. For more information, please click here.

Practising Certificate (“PC”) Applications pending in April 2016

Please note that:

  • PC applications submitted during the month of March 2016 will, when issued, be dated 1 April 2016. PC applications submitted during the month of April 2016 will bear the date of its submission when it is issued.

  • PC applications submitted during the period from 1 March to 30 April 2016 may take up to 3 weeks from the submission date to process. Please file your PC application early. 

Please also note that:

      • Under section 25(5) of the Legal Profession Act, "every practising certificate issued in the month of April shall be deemed to have been in force from the first day of that month".

      • In the event that your application for a practising certificate has been submitted and is pending processing, either by the Law Society or the Supreme Court, and you need to attend a hearing in Court, you may inform the Court of this and seek leave either to proceed with the hearing or for a short adjournment.

Closure of Linkway between Supreme Court B2 and Parliament House Public Carpark

In view of the Lying In State and State Funeral of the late Mr Nathan, please note that the Parliament House car park will be closed from Wed 24 Aug 2016 (2359 hrs) until Fri 26 Aug (1500 hrs).


As such, the B2 linkway from Parliament House (Carpark) to Supreme Court will also be closed during the said period.

Meanwhile, please access the Supreme Court via Main Entrance on Level 1. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Enhanced eLitigation Access Security
eLitigation access security will be enhanced with SingPass 2-Step Verification (2FA) security feature on 18 December 2015.
eLitigation users who have already opted for SingPass 2-Step Verification (2FA) will be required to go through a 2-step login process to access to eLitigation with effect from 18 December 2015. Those who have not setup their SingPass 2-Step Verification (2FA) are required to do so by 30 June 2016 to continue accessing eLitigation after this date.

Revised Operating Hours of Supreme Court Legal Registry

With effect from Saturday, 2 January 2016, the Legal Registry of the Supreme Court (Level 2) will be closed on Saturdays. The revised operating hours of the Legal Registry of the Supreme Court will be as shown below:

9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. from Monday to Thursday; and

9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Friday

Re-scheduling of Hearings for Bankruptcy Originating Summons & Bankruptcy Summons Applications

The Supreme Court will be re-scheduling the hearings for all Bankruptcy Originating Summons and Bankruptcy Summons appplications on the bulk list from Friday afternoons at 2.30pm to Tuesday mornings at 9am commencing 1 September 2015.

Supreme Court Practice Directions Amendment No. 4 of 2016

Amendment No. 4 of 2016 of the Practice Directions contains amendments to Part XI and Appendix A of the Supreme Court Practice Directions. The amendments will take effect on 1 October 2016.
