The Supreme Court will be holding an event involving all Judges/ Judicial Commissioners of the Supreme Court on Friday, 11 November 2016. No Judge/ Judicial Commissioner will be on duty in the Supreme Court on Friday, 11 November 2016.

Increase in State Courts’ Jurisdiction for Certain Claims

With effect from 1 December 2016, the State Courts’ jurisdiction for claims arising from road traffic accidents and claims for personal injuries resulting from industrial accidents will be increased from $250,000 to $500,000. The change is part of the plans to increase the civil district courts’ monetary jurisdictional limit in phases, which was announced by the Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon at the State Courts Workplan 2016

Supreme Court Notice - Opening of the Legal Year 2017

The ceremony for the Opening of The Legal Year 2017 will be held at the Supreme Court on Monday, 9 January 2017. No registrar will be on duty in the Supreme Court for the morning of Monday, 9 January 2017.

AAS Month Call in May 2017

Please note that there are two dates for the hearing of applicants for Admission as an Advocate and Solicitor in May 2017. The dates are (a) Thursday, 11 May 2017 (in place of Wednesday, 10 May 2017, which is a public holiday) and (b) Wednesday, 24 May 2017.

Applications for Appointment to Sheriff's Panel of Security Agencies for Enforcement Actions The Supreme Court of Singapore invites suitably qualified security agencies to apply to be appointed to a panel of Security Agencies (the “Panel”) to provide security services for various enforcement actions undertaken by the Bailiff Section of the Supreme Court. The estimated date of commencement of the Panel is 21 September 2017. The application process commences on 24 August 2017 and the deadline for applications is 4pm, 1 September 2017.
