Appeals from a Registrar’s decision to a Judge in Chambers

Any party who is not satisfied with any judgment, order or decision of a Registrar may appeal to a Judge sitting in the General Division of the High Court in chambers pursuant to Order 56 of the Rules of Court. This is commonly known as a Registrar’s Appeal. No leave of court is required to file a Registrar’s Appeal.

A Notice of Appeal in Form 112 has to be filed within 14 days after the date of the Registrar’s judgment, order or decision which is the subject of the appeal, and must be served on every other party involved in the proceedings within 7 days of its being issued.
