Amendments 2018

Amendment No. 1 of 2018

Amendment No. 1 of 2018 of the Practice Directions contains amendments to Part II and XI of the Supreme Court Practice Directions. Amendments to Appendix A are also introduced in this set of amendments. The amendments are summarised below:

a) amendments to paragraph 8 on Operating hours of the Supreme Court;
b) amendments to paragraph 87 on Filing of records of appeal; core bundles and written Cases for civil appeals under Order 57, Rules 9 and 9A of the Rules of Court;
c) amendments to paragraph 89 on Preparation of appeal records in civil appeals to the Court of Appeal;
d) introduction of paragraph 89B on Inclusion in appeal bundles of documents ordered to be sealed or redacted; and
e) amendments to Form 12 (Form of Record of Appeal), Form 13 (Form of Core Bundle), Form 14 (Form of Supplemental Core Bundle) and Form 27 (Appeals Information Sheet) and introduction of new Form 30 (Undertaking that Appeal Bundles Do Not Contain Sealed or Unredacted Documents) under Appendix A.

The amendments will take effect on 15 February 2018.

Supreme Court Practice Directions Amendment No. 1 of 2018

Amendment No. 2 of 2018

Amendment No. 2 of 2018 of the Practice Directions contains amendments to Appendix A and Appendix D of the Supreme Court Practice Directions. The amendments are summarised below:

a) amendments to Form 21 (Application to Use the Technology Courts or Mobile Infocomm Technology Facilities (MIT facilities)) under Appendix A; and
b) amendments to Fees for use of the Technology Courts and the Mobile Infocomm Technology Facilities under Appendix D.

The amendments will take effect on 1 March 2018.

Supreme Court Practice Directions Amendment No. 2 of 2018

Amendment No. 3 of 2018

Amendment No. 3 of 2018 contains amendments to Part II, Part VIII, Part XVI and Appendix B of the Supreme Court Practice Directions. The amendments are summarised below:

a) amendments to paragraph 15 on The Central Display Management System;
b) amendments to paragraph 19 on Submissions and examination by leading and assisting counsel;
c) amendments to paragraph 71 on Documents for use in trials of writ actions in open Court;
d) amendments to paragraph 124 on Arrest of ships; paragraph 129 on Searches for caveats against arrest or release; and introduction of new paragraph 124A on Arrest of ships in shipyards and paragraph 126A on Caveat against release; and
e) amendments to Waiting Periods under Appendix B.

The amendments will take effect on 15 November 2018 and will be reflected at https://epd.supremecourt.gov.sg/ from 15 November 2018.
